Polished black paper over boards with yellow quarter-cloth, no jacket or slipcase, large 8vo. Number 232 out of limited edition of 1250 copies. xvi+214pp. Translation of author's first book. Translated with note author by Samuel Putnam. Illustrations by Alexeieff. VG-. Considerable soil to spine and quarter binding, but silver titles still unobscured with no loss. Spotting loss to black paper leaving somewhat appealing (and appropriately?) surrealistic, galactic effect. Surface loss to unbumped corners. Foxing and toning to endpapers and sporadically throughout on Aurelian wove paper. Large bookplate to front pastedown. Occasional chips to page uppers from reader cutting (half-title page still uncut, all others seem cut). Text generally quite bright and completely unmarked.
