The boards of the book are shelf rubbed and edge worn, but remain otherwise strong and sturdy. Internally, there is some mild, age-related edge wear and a previous owner's signature to the front end page, but there are no other markings or inscriptions and the pages are neat and complete. With 4 gold preliminaries, 12 colour illustrations, 13 in-text black and white illustrations, elaborate decorative initials and nearly every page beautifully decorated in Celtic style by the author.
