All six color plate illustrations by August Henkel are present in this First Edition Thus of this title. The front green cloth cover is decorated and lettered in gold-a bit faded. The spine ends are stiff and corners show a bit bumped. There are some pencil notations (when the book was bought and read-1928) in pencil on the front paste down and the verso side of the last free end paper. A previous owner has also added in pen three small pages-they fit inside the page of this 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch book-"Persian words used in the Rubaiyat with English Pronunciations' and affixed them to the first rear free end paper. The dust jacket is also illustrated with a color image by August Henkel. The dust jacket has chips, some missing paper and curling along the edges. Additionally, the spine seems a bit sunned.
