The bibliographical record is full of errors and confusion between these two different people with the same last name [KAGAWA] and similar first names. The titles are also very similar adding yet more confusion to the differences between the two books. . Titles, names & dates are commonly attributed to the wrong author or title. They have been respected as the most brilliant physicians who influenced medicine in Japan. . WHO WAS KAGAWA GENTEKI: [1739-1779]: He was the adopted son of Kagawa Genetsu [1700-1777] & author of the first edition: SAN RON. . That classic work was followed by the SAN RON YOKU written in 1775 by Kagawa Genteki, as a "supplement" to the SAN RON. .
