This is a UK hardcover published by Church of England Temperance Society circa 1899. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading the book as Very Good condition for its age. The book has a straight spine with sharp corners and lightly softened spine ends. The boards are dark green and clean. The page edges are heavily toned but the interior text is clean although the blank end papers are off-white. I don't know the exact date of publication because there is no record, however there is a presentation label glued to the inside cover dated 1899, which dates the book around that time. The book has 98 pages plus 16 pages of additional information about the catalogues, leaflets, etc, offered by the publisher. The book is illustrated throughout in black and white and has chapters on: Water, Alcohol, Intoxicating Drinks, Food, Digestion, the Blood, the Heart, Blood-Vessels and Temperature, the Skin, Lungs and Kidneys, the Brain and the Nervous System.
