The studies included in this edited volume explore discourses surrounding the ageing population, those who assist them, their families and the institutions/organisations that offer services to them. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: Boyd H. Davis is Graduate Professor Emerita in English Linguistics at University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Her research interests include narrative and sociopragmatics in discourse, especially dementia and medical discourses, dementia caregiver interactions and digital corpora of speech. Alessandra Vicentini is Associate Professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Insubria, where she teaches English Linguistics. Her research interests include ESP (medicine & healthcare and news discourse), Sociolinguistics, Critical Discourse and Genre Analysis. Kim Grego is Associate Professor of English Language and Translation at the University of Milan, where she teaches English Linguistics. Her interests include Translation Studies, ESP (scientific, medical and political discourse), Critical Discourse Studies applied to ethically debatable issues.
