Original Cloth. Zustand: Good. Gee, Lucy (illustrator). First Edition. Second impression from January 1943 of a book first published by Newnes in June 1942. Boards have a small stain at the top left corner of the front panel and the rear panel has a small stain at the bottom right corner and a small surface dent. The spine has some rubbing and fraying at the top and bottom, it has a lean to it and the lettering is very faded. Rubbing and bumping to the corners. Page edges are browned with some spotting. The front free end paper has the original owner's name and a date at the top right corner with a small pen mark to the left of this. There is a two inch patch of surface tearing to the front pastedown and the endpapers have some light spotting. Small stain at the top of the rear free endpaper also affecting the final page of the text. There is another similar stain affecting pages 177 to 179 and there are a few light marks through the book but the pages are otherwise generally clean and unmarked. No jacket.
