SECOND LATIN EDITION 1544, printers' names taken from colophon, small 8vo, approximately 165 x 110 mm, 6½ x 4½ inches, printer's pictorial device on title page, repeated larger on final page, pages: [3], 4-479, [1], rebound in full modern panelled calf, gilt lettered maroon label, gilt decoration to spine, blind decoration to covers, new endpapers, edges speckled red. Pale staining to title page with untidy ink inscription in Latin, pale staining to text of pages 15-18, pale staining to outer upper corners and outer margins through most of the book, no staining to pages 372 to end apart from slightly affecting the edges of a few outer margins, unsightly heavier staining affecting pages 225-241 and 257-272 leaving tide marks, all text legible, brief early ink note to 11 margins, a few pale underlinings.
