Good. First edition of the author's first book.American writer Dow Mossman [b. 1943, Cedar Rapids, Iowa] received his MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop in 1969. After the publication of "The Stones of Summer" Mossman was mentally exhausted, spending several months in an Iowa sanitorium, and his novel soon went out of print. In 2002 Mossman was the subject of a documentary "Stone Reader", in which director Mark Moskowitz chronicled his efforts to revive interest in the acclaimed book and to speak to its apparently vanished author.
