Illustrated with a magnificent engraved frontispiece adorned with the coat of arms of Filipe III (with the arms of Portugal in the center) to whom the author dedicated the work and with scenes from the lives of the Iberian saints S. Isidoro, S. Ildefonso, with images of S, Bento e S. Gregório and surpassed by a card supported by angels showing Santo Isidoro defending Spain from the Moors. Text on linen paper, with round characters in the text and italics in quotes and titles, which is adorned with headings with anthropomorphic and floral motifs, the royal arms of Philippe III of Spain to serve as a preface to the preface and small finials to finish. It contains the biographies of three saints who belonged or were linked to the Order of S. Bento. They are: Santo Isidoro, (Cartagena c. 560 - Seville 04-04-636) Archbishop of Seville, author of Etymologiae, great sum of the knowledge of his time; Santo Ildefonso (Toledo 606 - 23-01-667) Archbishop of Toledo and precursor of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception; and St. Gregory I the Great, (Rome c. 540 - 12-03-604) Pope between 590 to his death.
