Über den Autor: Jennifer Barone was born in Brooklyn, New York in a neighborhood of predominantly southern Italian emigrants where at first, the only thing she understood about being Italian was eating Italian food. She has expanded this exploration of her heritage through her travels, and by learning the musical language of la bella lingua. Jennifer now resides in North Beach, San Francisco, a neighborhood known for its Italian heritage, a lineage of great poets and artists and Italian food. She is the co-host of the long-running Word Party poetry and jazz open mic (thewordparty.com) and the author of three books of poetry including, Secret City 2007 and Simple Language, 2003. She is a two time winner of the Poets Eleven city-wide poetry contest hosted by the San Francisco public library, she has been a featured poet at most well-known poetry venues in San Francisco and is published in various literary publications for poetry. She has had the great privilege to know Lam Khong, whom she first met in NY while he was exhibiting his art in the 90 s. Since then they have shared many travels and conversations about love and art over the years, usually over a table of delicious food. Lam Khong, MFA, studied art and philosophy from the College of Santa Fe, American University / American University of Rome and the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology. He has participated in group and solo exhibitions in the States and abroad including Berkeley, Boston, New York and Rome. He says, Jennifer and I are dear friends of twenty years. We have shared tears and laughter over many memorable meals to celebrate life. I am so happy to have been asked to be a part of her project. I would love to cook everyone a good dinner.
