Beschreibung
A charmingly illustrated book about Japanese dances and culture. Written in the original German. A book about Japanese dances, and culture in Japan. Some of the dances described in this book are 'Der Tanz des Waschebleichens', 'Der Tanz der Fichte', and 'Der Teufelstanz'. Written by Bernhard Kellerman, who wrote many widely translated novels. He was a member of the Prussian poet academy, and travelled widely during 1926-1928, to Russia, India, Vietnam, and China. His novels include 'Yester and Li', 'Ingeborg', 'Das Meer', and 'The Ninth November'. Illustrated by Karl Walser, a Swiss painter, illustrator, and set designer. With a tipped-in frontispiece, a further eleven tipped-in plates, and eleven monochrome plates. Undated, dated using Copac. In the original publisher's quarter morocco binding with paper to the boards. Externally, sound. Rubbing to the spine has caused a little loss, mostly to the joints and to the head and tail of spine. A little rubbing to the extremities. Minor marking to the boards, resulting in some discolouration. Ribbon marker is detached but present. Light offsetting to the recto to the front endpaper, and to the verso to the rear endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound, being lightly strained in places. Pages are lightly age-toned to the edges, and generally clean, with the odd spot throughout. Very Good. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 606P21
