Six issues making up volume 221 (1969), complete. Large and thick 4to, bound in red buckram in a single volume, gilt titling on the spine. These issues were bound for a private individual subscriber; no ownership markings and not an ex-library volume. The December issue includes a poem by W. H. Auden, "A New Year Greeting," written after Auden had read "Life on the Human Skin," by Mary J. Marples in the January 1969 issue of Scientific American.
