Beschreibung
All twelve issues bound in heavy-duty hardcover library binding with gilt lettering on the spine including previous owner's name. The volume is structurally sound. There are occasional minor marks, smudges or soiling on covers and pages but generally very clean. Very little wear. The book will be bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit. This is a very heavy volume that will require extra funds for shipping outside of the United States. This volume includes: "How Close Encounters with Star Clusters are Achieved with a Computer Telescope"; "Space Science, Space Technology and the Space Station"; "Growth, Differentiation and the Growth of Malignancy"; "The Structure of Comet Tails"; "Applications of Optical Phase Conjugation"; "The Chemical Defenses of Higher Plants"; "Mineral Deposits from Sea-Floor Hot Springs"; "Kin Recognition in Tadpoles"; "An Inexpensive Homemade Polarimeter can Analyze Optically Active Compounds"; "Radiocarbon Dating by Accelerator Mass Spectrometry"; "The King (a Chess Program) is Dead, Long Live the King (a Chess Machine)"; "The T Cell and Its Receptor"; "Dioxin"; "Quantum Chemical Reactions in the Deep Cold"; "The Heart as an Endocrine Gland"; "Reconstructing Bird Phylogeny by Comparing DNAs"; "Inca Stonemasonry"; "William Herschel and the Making of Modern Astronomy"; "Seismic Images of Plate Boundaries"; "A Homemade Device for Testing Particle Scattering: Experiments in Zero Gravity"; "How a Pair of Dull-Witted Programs can Look like Geniuses on I.Q.
