A topographical description of Scotland's counties, describing the geographical and geological qualities of the country.Written by Robert Heron (1764-1807), a Scottish writer known for his works on the geography and history of Scotland, which includes a 'Life of Robert Burns', 'Observations made in a Journey through the Western Counties of Scotland' and 'Elegant Extracts of Natural History'.In a contemporary leather binding with gilt detail to the spine.Complete with one folding map.A scarce work. In a full calf binding. Externally a trifle rubbed, with a chip to the front hinge and bumping to the extremities; otherwise some general wear to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
