The Seasons by James Thomson, Stafford s Edition. Printed by W.W. Woodward, Philadelphia, 1797, 200 pp, original tree calf leather, 7 x 4.5 , 12mo. In as-is condition. Rear board detached, front board fragile and nearly detached. Lovely original tree calf binding with light wear to extremities. Minor scuffing to corners and joints. Slight loss at head and tail of spine. Lacking all four plates. Remaining offsetting from plates on opposite leaves. Armorial plate of Ogden Dungan Wilkinson (1863-1938) on pastedown. Interior toned with age-stain and foxing throughout. Some dampness staining at margins. Binding intact. Please see photos. Scarce Federalist era Philadelphia printing.
