Large double page map (22" x 19 1/2"), some coloring, text title cartouche in the upper left corner, also includes a second less elaborate cartouche and a coat of arms. Unclear when coloring was done, some tape repairs at fold on verso, some discoloration in bottom margin from tape, left margin about 1/2 inch (this is normal for this map), but other margins are ample, text on verso, some minor soiling, staining and browning; otherwise very good. Willem Blaeu (1571-1638) was the founder of one of the great cartographic publishing dynasties, which produced some of the best maps of the period. This is very attractive early map showing part of Brabant in the Netherlands, and is centered on Brussels.
