Driven by advanced CMOS technology, power management units, RF transceivers, and sensors, analog and mixed-signal circuits can now be fully integrated with VLSI digital systems for applications ranging from mobile, internet-of-things (IoT), wearable, and implantable medical devices. Evidently, the circuit- and system-level innovations have pushed the device performance boundaries to become orders of magnitude higher, whilst keeping the same or even lower power consumption.

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren
Yan Lu received the BEng and MSc degrees in Microelectronics from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2006 and 2009, respectively; and the PhD degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, in 2013. In 2014, he joined the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI of University of Macau as an Assistant Professor. His current research interests include, wireless power transfer circuits and systems, RF energy harvesting, highly-integrated power management solutions. From 2013 to 2018, Yan has contributed 9 ISSCC papers which are distributed in three sub-areas of power management IC: wireless power transfer (3), low-dropout regulators (3), and switched-capacitor DC-DC converters (3). In addition, Yan has co-authored 40+ journal/conference papers, three book chapters, and one book entitled "CMOS Integrated Circuit Design for Wireless Power Transfer" published by Springer. Dr. Lu served as a member of Technical Program Committee of several IEEE conferences, including ISCAS, VLSI-DAT, APCCAS, etc. He also serves as a reviewer of many journals/conferences including IEEE JSSC, TCAS-I, TPEL, etc. Yan was a recipient of the Outstanding Postgraduate Student Award of Guangdong (Canton) Province 2008, the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award 2013-2014, and the IEEE CAS Society Outstanding Young Author Award 2017. He is a senior member of IEEE.
Chi-Seng Lam received the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Macau (UM), Macao, China, in 2003, 2006, and 2012 respectively. From 2006 to 2009, he was an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in UM. In 2009, he simultaneously worked as a Laboratory Technician and started to pursue his Ph.D. degree, and completed his Ph.D. degree within 3 years. In 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, UM, Macao, China. He has co-authored 2 books: Design and Control of Hybrid Active Power Filters (Springer, 2014) and Parallel Power Electronics Filters in Three-Phase Four-Wire Systems - Principle, Control and Design (Springer, 2016), 2 US patent, 2 Chinese patents and more than 60 technical journals and conference papers. His research interests include integrated power electronics controllers, power management integrated circuits, power quality compensators, smart grid technology, renewable energy, etc. Dr. Lam received the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award in 2016, the Macao Science and Technology Invention Award (Third-Class) and R&D Award for Postgraduates (Ph.D.) in 2014 and 2012 respectively. He also received Macao Government Ph.D. Research Scholarship in 2009-2012, Macao Foundation Postgraduate Research Scholarship in 2003-2005, the 3rd RIUPEEEC Merit Paper Award in 2005, BNU Affinity Card Scholarship in 2001. Dr. Lam is an IEEE Senior Member. He was the GOLD Officer, Student Branch Officer and a Secretary of IEEE Macau Section in 2007, 2008 and 2015. He is currently the Vice-Chair of IEEE Macau Section, the Chair of IEEE Macau CAS/COM Joint Chapter, and the Secretary of IEEE Macau PES/PELS Joint Chapter. He served as a member of Organizing Committee or Technical Program Committee of several international conferences, such as: IEEE TENCON 2015, ASP-DAC 2016, etc.
