Bromley Sheldon. Foreword by Chancellor Clifford M. Hardin. The catalogue presents a selection of 105 works from the University's permanent collection, each entered with full curatorial apparatus (medium, dimensions, signature, history of ownership, exhibitions list, reproductions, and bibliography) under the direction of Norman A. The collection traces its origins to the Haydon Art Club's 1888 exhibition and to the Nebraska Art Association, and at the time of the inauguration was already recognized as one of the most ambitious university holdings of twentieth-century American art.Artists represented include Constantin Brancusi, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Aaron Siskind, Robert Henri, John Sloan, William Glackens, George Ault, Milton Avery, Saul Baizerman, Ernst Barlach, Leonard Baskin, Kenneth Armitage, David Aronson, James Brooks, Erich Heckel, Morris Graves, Max Weber, and many others.Contents: Foreword (Clifford M.
