The Lord Bishop of Ripon stresses the importance of the sermon and outlines some of its key messages in his introduction. Ink inscription verso of front free endpaper reads 'To our uncle from his nephews. W.J. + J.P. Price. In memory of our mother. Nov 13th 1890. Undated. Dated using JISC from the estimate of the University of Cambridge library. In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, sound. Quite rubbed to the boards and the spine. Due to a tear in the cloth at the front joint near the tail of the spine, the cloth at the spine flaps. There is also a smaller tear at the front joint near the head of the spine.
