First published in 1753, and very scarce in all editions.An Edinburgh based minister, in this volume Carmichael presents nine sermons on 'a variety of important subjects', including sermons discussing 'Anxiety and Sollicitude', 'The Folly and Danger of delaying to enter upon a Religious Life', and 'The Obligation to Brotherly Love deduced from the Love of God to us'. Each sermon is accompanied by a Biblical passage.With this edition released six years after Carmichael's death, it was 'published for the benefit' of his surviving family.ESTC reference no.
