In the current context of covid and other new developments, it is important to see the role of each of our sciences in the understanding of the world in movement. The changes that the world is experiencing at all levels must be explained by the result of our relationship with the environment in which we live. Man's aggressiveness towards his environment is undoubtedly the basis of his major current problems. Geography and History, in connection with all the disciplines, appear today as the ideal channel to convey the solutions to the relational disparities that exist between Man and his dear nature. Both a novel and a biography, this book looks back at the remedies that the humanities have brought to the intellectual well-being of mankind and at the admirable career of the author. The book evokes the difficulties experienced by its editor and the plural successes of our disciplines in the general growth of the world. It shows the role of Geography as a means of prevention and planning and that of History as a tool of self-knowledge.
