Full vellum binding. Title in red, editor's name in black. Two former owners' names inside front cover, one printed on a bookplate, the other written in ink. Also a couple of numbers written small inside front cover. Former owner's name also on last flyleaf, with date, 1934. Very neatly designed embossed or impressed initials on title page, the initials being those of the person whose name appears in ink inside the front cover. This same person has name embossed on second flyleaf. Engraved portrait of Shakespeare before title page, with protective tissue page. Top edges gilt, two other sides are rough cut. No marks inside book other than those mentioned above. Pages are very white, or cream-colored. 251 pages. Wonderful introduction by Edward Dowden. For an unknown reason, the publisher's name on the spine reads Kegan Paul, Trench & Co. but Trench isn't mentioned in the publisher's line on the title page. There it is C. Kegan Paul & Co. Book is tight and square. Vellum has slight general discoloration and very tiny nicks here and there. The first 70 pages, or thereabouts, are taken up by an introduction. The last 96 pages are dedicated to Notes. The sonnets are on 154 pages. Binding is tight, square. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 6125
