Sutzkever was a famous Yiddish poet and Holocaust survivor of whom 'The New York Times' wrote was 'the greatest poet of the Holocaust'. With the previous owner's bookplate for 'Essex County Library' to the rear paste-down and a bookseller's barcode label to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some fading to the spine and edges and some light shelf wear to the edges. Bookseller's label to the front free endpaper. Library bookplate to the rear paste-down. The bookplate has been torn, leaving a mark on the paste-down. The original clipped dust wrapper is in smart condition. Shelf wear and chipping to the edges. A few small closed tears to the edges. Wear to the spine which affects the text. Age-toning to the edges and handling marks to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Near Fine.
