Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Language: English. John, a lecturer in philosophy at Delhi University, returns to his flat one evening to find a letter waiting for him. A subsequent meeting with the author of the letter leaves a question mark over the supposed death of john’s fiancée, some years earlier. He temporarily suspends his work with the hijra community in Delhi to accompany Diamond, a researcher in aesthetics, to Shimla, where he had formerly studied. At Shimla they find themselves in the midst of a rightwing conspiracy. After four weeks, when John returns to Delhi he is nowhere near a solution to the problem. If anything, events in the past seem even more inexplicable. This is a story of a deeply felt personal quest for beauty and love, against the backdrop of modern India with all its strange contradictions and tensions. About The Author: Rajesh Talwar, is a lawyer by profession, a prolific writer, and has also taught law at Delhi University and Jamia Millia Islamia for a period of six years. In 1996 he went to the U.K. on a British Chevening scholarship, from where he did his LL.M. in Human Rights Law from the University of of Nottingham. He has written extensively on legal and nonlegal subjects for various newspapers and magazines, and has authored several books, both nonfiction as well as fiction. Making Your Own Will (Vision Books, 1992) was followed by The Judiciary on Trial (Cosmos, 1995), How to Choose Your Lawyer (Vision Books, 1998), The Divorce Handbook (Vision Books, 1999), The Third Sex and Human Rights (Gyan Publishing House, 1999), Inside Gayland (Kalpaz Publications, 2001) and The Laws of EBusiness in India (Vision Books, 2001).
