This is the original handwritten Memorandum of Agreement between Sir Thomas Beecham Bart. and Westby & Co. Ltd. dated 20th August 1919. The agreement is for a loan of£10,000 to Sir Thomas in consideration of Westby's having exclusive rights to catering and all other Front of House activities at the Covent Garden Opera House. The document is signed by Sir Thomas together with his initials in the margins adjacent to corrections to the agreement. Generally in very good condition with revenue stamps embossed to margins.
