She was an English socialite and through her mother was the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. In the original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Richard F. Burton's signature has been gilt stamped to the front board. Externally, lovely, with just light shelf wear. Bookplates of Harold E. Matthews and C.J. Peacock to the verso of the front board.
