Über den Autor: Dennis Fewless - The late Dennis Fewless developed an interest in soft drinks at an early age. He can still remember his first Vernor?s Ginger Ale at age nine, his first 16oz. bottle (Double Cola), and the first time he had seen a 26oz. Coca-Cola bottle (1955.) By the time he was fifteen, he had already visited three bottling works! His collection had currently grown to some 15,000 pieces, most of it on display in his basement. The collection of Wisconsin bottles and soda memorabilia was one of the finest in the country. By 1973, Dennis began to manually record and preserve bottling company data by writing and filing the information for each state. Through the 1980s he accumulated thousands of handwritten notes in dozens of boxes. Around 1990, he slowly began the endless task of cataloging and compiling the information into an organized format. This volume is the tangible fulfillment of Dennis? 30-year dream. Christopher Weide - Christopher is one of the earliest known collectors of U.S. ACL (Applied Color Label) soda bottles, having started in the late 1960s with a childhood chum and now has become the premier collector being certified by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1993 as having the world?s largest collection of American soda bottles (nearly 11,000 unique at this time.) Chris is also a charter member of the Painted Soda Bottle Collector?s Assoc. (PSBCA) founded in the mid-1980s to assist collectors of soda pop bottles and related memorabilia. He has served as co-editor of Collecting Applied Color Label Sodas Third Edition and was a major contributor to both the second and third editions of same. He has also been involved with the development of the upcoming Volume II of Collecting Applied Color Label Sodas. Chris? photos and by-lines have appeared in a number of published books, national magazines, newspapers and he is a regular contributor to the Soda Spectrum, a bi-monthly collector?s magazine.
