ORIGINAL TYPEWRITTEN MANUSCRIPT, The Song of Life by Waldo Pondray Warren (Dec. 24,1875 - Aug. 19, 1939), loose 8.5 x 11 in. paper with 3 hole punch, 7 pp., no date - assumed 1930s. Condition: Very Good, pages tanned, some 3-ring holes have torn, light edgewear, Contents: Warren expresses his love of song and live in this 45 part 7 page manuscript, we have be unable to find any evidence that this manuscript was ever published. An excerpt (typos are by Warren): "1. Song is the supreme expression of life. When every other desire has been attained, the desire to sing remains. To really live is to sing for the joy of living. In this meaning of the word, expecially, I am and have been always a singer. Life itself is the theme of my song. Where ever I turn my attention I find something of which to sing. To me life has a richness and a grandeur which song alone can express. 2. I taught myself to look beneath the surface of everything till I could find there a theme for sone. It was hard at times, for many said, Woe is life; but I said, Life was made for joy and song, and I will seek until I find it everywhere. 3. I saw that others responded to my mood; that jy gladness inspired gladness in them, and my sadness made them sad; and I said, It is my highest duty to be glad; I will be always glad for their sake; and soon my own cup was running over with joy, and my heart sang as it were a new song; and I said, Song is service itself; I will serve mankind with my song; I will make all things yield unto me their beauty and power that I may increase the beauty and power of my song."-- 7 pp. ORIGINAL TYPEWRITTEN MANUSCRIPT.
