The Book: The Song of Songs, by Gilbert James. This is an undated edition c1910 published by George Routledge & Sons, Limited, London. An introductory note and photogravures after eight drawings by Gilbert James. Deckle edge page ends with a few uncut pages. Gilt top page ends. Hardcover with blue cloth boards with gilt titles and decoration to spine and front cover. 8vo in size with 92pp + catalogue. The Condition: Boards are a touch faded with a little rubbing to edges including top and tail of spine. A few light marks mainly to edges. Corners are lightly bumped. Endpapers are tanned with light tanning throughout book. Plate illustrations with tissue guards are well foxed. Frontispiece and ?The Third Day?, plates are both coming away from the binding and are just attached. Book binding webbing has split at, ?The Third Day?, plate but pages are still tightly bound other then the two mentioned. Page ends are tanned and grubby. Book is in fair condition.
