New and enlarged edition. With prose translation, glossary, and introduction by Leo Wiener. Text in Yiddish and English. 12mo. Publisher s blue-grey decorated cloth lettered in gold on front cover and spine, top edge gilt. Spine is modestly toned with light wear at spine ends, a bright, near fine copy. Rosenfeld, sometimes known as the "Poet of Labor," was born in Poland, moved to England to avoid military conscription, and there became a tailor, on to Holland to become a diamond cutter, and finally to New York where he eked out an existence in the sweat shops.
