Beschreibung
A common-place book is a book of quotes, thoughts and other types of inspiration. Robert Southey, one of the Lake Poets, kept several during his lifetime which were put together and edited by his Son-in-law to be shared with his audience. As such, they are an interesting insight into the mind of an (over)educated Englishman of the Romantic period and include many tidbits from a variety of sources including Portuguese and Spanish. Please do not hesitate to email with questions or for more pictures.
