16-page booklet to commemorate appointment of a local Wrexham worthy as steward (or judge) of the court leet, which had powers to inquire into all offences involving matters under 40 shillings within its territorial jurisdiction (though some claimed all offences less than high treason could be inquired into). There were court leet jurors (though not trial by jury!). Leets were abolished in 1977 after becoming only ceremonial in the 20th century (with one East Anglian exception). Staples rusted.
