Each story deals with the life and spiritual crisis of its characters, which are mostly artists and intellectuals.Featuring extracts from the 'Life of Lucy Newcome', which was based on his lover Edith Broadbent ('Muriel.') Externally sound with shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. A minor loss to the tail of the spine, light soiling to the boards. Previous owner's envelop tipped in to the front pastedown, undated, gift inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 1930. Internally, firmly bound.
