Inhaltsangabe:

From dust jacket notes: "W.A. Criswell has had a tremendous impact on twentieth-century Christianity. But although he's a world-renowned orator, Dr. Criswell doesn't rely on his gift of preaching to convey his life's story. Instead, his 63 years of preaching and 81 years of living are captured in simple, sometimes hilarious, often haunting, and always heart-warming stories of the faith, people, and events God used to shape his life through the Word. When Jesus wanted to impart a profound truth, He told simple stories people could relate to their lives. That's the intent of this autobiography. Beginning in Eldorado, Texas, Standing on the Promises follows W.A. Criswell across six continents and through eight decades, gathering the rich anecdotes that will make this volume a Christian classic...."
