Includes a loosely inserted Polish-English-Spanish dictionary of bibliographical terms and prospectus. Publisher's cloth-backed boards, with a dust jacket and slipcase (slipcase slightly rubbed at extremities). Inscribed by the translator Tadeusz Zapiór on the half-title. Limited to 1000 copies, this is a special copy on Dutch Simili and Japan. This edition marks the first Polish release of a study and bibliography of Stanislaus Polonus (died after 1514), a printer of Polish origins who worked from 1489 in Naples and from 1491 to 1504 in Seville and Alcalá de Henares. The original German edition was published by Oficyna Warszawska in 1945. The present edition was conceived by Kraków publisher and bookseller Tadeusz Zapiór, who translated and revised the text, added an afterword and extensive notes, and updated a list of books printed by Polonus. Additionally, Zapiór significantly increased the number of illustrations. This special copy represents one of the most ambitious Polish book productions. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 006590
