He culled information after soliciting material from assorted periodicals: "Tacoma News," "Puget Sound Lumberman," "Spokane Review," etc.Photos, with excellent subject matter, extol a thriving, abundant Washington State: HMS "Hyacinth" at Tacoma's Puget Sound Dry Dock; harvesting a fir tree nearly nine-feet in diameter near Chehalis; seeding grain by horse team in Walla Walla Valley, etc. Alas, they're fairly poorly reproduced.
