Inhaltsangabe: Stockton has something for everyone. The city is at the center of an economic revival, benefiting from its natural and geographic resources, its many educational opportunities, its dedicated arts and entertainment communities, and the innovation of its business people. Stockton: Renewed, Revitalized, Redefined tells the remarkable story of this dynamic city. Nestled in California s fertile Central Valley and a short drive to the San Francisco Bay region, Stockton is fast becoming known as a city that works and plays hard. With two main interstate highways and a deepwater channel port, the city is always on the brink of something big, drawing new commerce, warehousing, and automotive industries to the area. Stockton is also a place to call home. Housing is affordable and ranges from luxury riverfront homes to charming historic neighborhoods close to shops and authentic ethnic restaurants. Residents enjoy the thousands of miles of navigable waterways in the adjacent San Joaquin Delta, where people can boat, fish, water-ski, kayak, and yacht or just lounge at the many one-of-a-kind riverside eateries. Since its beginnings as a Gold Rush outpost, Stockton has been an agricultural hub, and today the area is gaining fame for its quality wine grapes. With its many vineyards, fruit and nut orchards, and fields of asparagus, Stockton celebrates its agricultural base with farmers markets and wine-tasting rooms. Perhaps Stockton s greatest attribute, however, is its people, the many cultures adding vitality and spice to the city s neighborhoods. Enjoy the city s friendly people, its busy markets, its booming downtown, its bustling port, and more in the vivid descriptions and stunning photographs of Stockton: Renewed, Revitalized, Redefined.

She left the daily newspaper business to stay home and raise her two children, launching her freelance career. As a freelance writer, Gonzales covered the Stockton area for numerous magazines and The Sacramento Bee newspaper. She currently attends California State University, Sacramento, where she is earning a master s degree in English literature.
