Reprint of the 1964 Rome edition published by Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura (within series Sussidi Eruditi #16). Second edition considerably increased (as stated upon title page). 607, [2] pages. Hardcover: H 21cm x L 13.5cm. No dust jacket. Gray cloth; spine cloth repaired has it has been glued down to inner backstrip; fraying and some slender cloth loss along joints; "Praz" handwritten in gold ink near spine head. Hinges and binding are still firm. Toning to text block edges; light moisture stain at fore-edge heel and adjoining bottom edge corner. Soiling to interior pages with some scattered pencil markings. Some bumping to corners. Spine is age darkened with library reference number in black ink. The binding on the textblock is rather loose, the bundles are separating but still well held. Textblock is generally clean. 607 pp. Contains the usual marks of an ex-library copy. Cream heavy paper dust jacket with black lettering to spine and black and red lettering to front. Dj edges are creased with numerous small nicks, particularly around the spine and corner areas. Spine area is age darkened with another library reference number.
