Rusty Bresser, an elementary classroom teacher for more than twenty years, is currently a Lecturer and a Supervisor of Teacher Education at the University of California at San Diego. He is the author of Math and Literature, Grades 4-6, Second Edition (Math Solutions Publications, 2004), a co-author of Minilessons for Math Practice, Grades K-2 (Math Solutions Publications, 2006), co-author of Minilessons for Math Practice, Grades 3-5 (Math Solutions Publications, 2006), co-author of Developing Number Sense, Grades 4-6 (Math Solutions Publications, 1999), and a Math Solutions Professional Development instructor.Kathy Melanese, a bilingual classroom teacher for over 16 years, is currently the Elementary Distinguished Teacher in Residence in the Educations Studies Program at the University of California, San Diego. She is also a Teacher Leader for the California Reading and Literature Project and provides staff development in the area of English Language Development.Christine Sphar has worked for fifteen years as a bilingual teacher, bilingual facilitator, bilingual Reading First Coach, and English Language Development Coach. She is currently supporting new and veteran teachers through the Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) and Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) programs.
