A Synoptic Review of the Bible.: None. (Volume 1)

The Bible is Christendom's Holy Book and is generally believed to be God's Word to man. Even though it is written by fallible humans at different times down the ages, it is our belief as Christians that the writers were inspired and empowered by the Holy Spirit - our Lord's fulfilled promise to His disciples when He was about to depart our world to Heaven. This Spirit of Truth and Helper for the disciples of Jesus Christ was to bring to their remembrance all that our Lord and Savior taught them while here on earth in their midst and many prophets, priests, political and religious leaders in ancient Israel also participated in writing the Bible long before the coming of our Lord into this world. Therefore, any attempt to summarize the Bible, as was done in this book, if it does not receive the required support of our God, through His in-filling of the author with the Holy Spirit is bound to result in under-presentation, or worst still misrepresentation of the sacred facts as contained in the Bible, thereby inadvertently resulting in heresy and the misleading of sincere seekers of the truth. Consequently, throughout the more than 2-year period when this book was being produced, I always start each day by seeking in prayer God's Holy Spirit to guide, inspire, teach and even dictate to me what to write so as not to misrepresent Him in this book. On every day when I put pen to paper, I often feel this still small voice telling me, in answer to my prayers to put down what He is about to dictate to me for His intended readers who are people who may wish to set aside indoctrinated teachings and primordial opinions about Jesus Christ and Christianity, deciding to take a cursory look at this book to find out, as I once did "what all this hype is about Jesus Christ being the ONLY recognized way by God for man to get back to Him in heaven" and non-conformists, otherwise referred to as free thinkers. It's also written for believers who are reading the whole Bible but desire a precise and concise introduction of each book that makes up the Bible without missing out on any valuable information contained in the original Bible. This book therefore is written principally for these categories of people in mind, and it has been adjudged to be well endowed to fulfill these purposes going by comments of readers on the Zondervan - Publishers - improvised - Christian website www.authonomy.com/christian which is created primarily as a forum for writers, readers and publishers of Christian literature to meet and interact. Relayed here is one of the testimonies of a reader on this website concerning this book: Dr Surya Kumar Daimari of the London School of Economics wrote " Your book truly is a genuine introduction to the books of the Bible.....very precise and concise in presentation. It's a good Bible study tool for Bible students, a handbook for pastors and Sunday school teachers and a gateway for the Bible for a new reader. The book is well set up and organized and covers the whole Bible in one volume which is rarely found. Though I haven't gone through all the books, I could get a feel of your work by reading a few of the chapters. You have brought out important points along with the summary of each book. I highly appreciate your working out an invaluable project so ably and tirelessly for the benefit of Bible lovers. I believe many will be blessed and benefited by this book. High stars" Each book, as stated earlier starts with a very brief introduction or history, in-tow a division of the book into parts which form the basis under which a detailed summary is done. For emphasis, the central truths in the book are highlighted and treated. Finally conclusions are drawn and lessons as armory for daily living extracted for the readers. It's my prayer that as you read this Spirit-filled book, you will have an encounter with Jesus Christ - the Savior of the world, the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, our Healer and the soon coming King.

Abayomi Donatus Bamigboye is a member and worshiper at the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, who is carrying out the Holy Spirit's directive through this effort. This book, it is hoped, will be a veritable tool for evangelism - given to people, especially our colleagues at work, friends at church and play, as an easily-read, novel-styled, Spirit-filled book. It is also expected to be used by born-again Christians as an introductory book to each book that makes up the Holy Bible, when studying it. Born on February 27, 1957 to an illiterate but wise parent, Yomi was enrolled at Ebenezer African Church School, Oke-Ado in Ibadan, for his elementary education. From here he attended Fatima College, Ikire - Ibadan ( a Roman Catholic Mission) Secondary School. He was at The Polytechnic, Ibadan for his diploma in Civil engineering, before graduating from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, South-West Nigeria, in 1984 with a Bachelor's degree in Building Technology. He is married to Abimbola and they blessed with two children - Olaitan and Olaoluwa.
