Edinburgh, Adam and Charles Black, 1873, hard cover, original green cloth with gilt and black decoration of front board, blind stamped decoration to back board, gilt lettering and decoration on spine, about 7 X 5 ¾ inches, (xxxvi) 390 (2) pages, illustrated in B&W + a folding map. Cover is about good ; clean, complete and solid, showing some light wear here and there, a few water stain ( ?) on front board, and a light fading to gilt lettering on spine. Interior is good or better ; clean, complete and solidly bound, showing rare small and light stains, a long inscription on ffep, endpaper cracked at hinges (only the paper).
