Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: I dream one day to be sitting with my wife in an airport waiting area and hearing a mother say to her young daughter, “Tempest, don’t go too far, the plane will be boarding soon.” I look forward to the opportunity to ask her, “Tempest, what a lovely name. How did you get that name?” In my musing the young girl would look at me and say, “My mother found it in a book. She really loves the book and read the parts to me that I am old enough to understand.” My next question for Tempest would then be, “What did you think of the book?” If I continued without being awakened she would reply, “I really loved it. In fact, it’s my favorite and I can’t wait to be old enough to read it all.” Finally, if our conversation continued uninterrupted, when asked why it was her favorite she would answer, “Because it taught me to really love math. It is my favorite subject. When my class gets to that subject I always say, Goody, goody time for math!”
