Boudoir card on original tan mount with title and photographer's information in the negative; historical information and D&RGRR advertisement on verso. Negative number 8. Likely photographed in the mid-1880s. Mount has light soiling and dampstaining; photograph has light soiling and dampstaining (affecting about 1" x ½" section). Previous owner's rubber stamp on verso reading "Property of Zeph. Chas. Felt, Photographer, Margaret Felt Memorial." Photographer Dana B. Chase owned a studio in Santa Fe from 1884-1892, taking over for William Henry Brown (Mautz p. 406). This image depicts the monumental building and was built of sandstone and topped with large bronze statues. It was constructed in 1886 and replaced the Palace of the Governors as the territorial capitol building in Santa Fe. A small collection of D. B.
