A collection of 51 homilies by a Fransciscan monk; a complete copy. The book is amply illustrated with 51 interesting copper engravings in the chapters' headings (pictures are always related to the particular feast day but they also depict cities, people in contemporary costumes etc.). Two full-page copper engravings are included: the scene of the Adoration of the Magi, set in the Baroque building with statues of various saints (made by Engelhard Nunzer after S. Arnold); a portrait of Lothar Franz von Schönborn-Buchheim (1655-1729), the Archbishop-Elector of Mainz from 1694 to 1729 and the Bishop of Bamberg from 1693 to 1729 (unsigned; probably also made by Nunzer). Other pages are decorated with headpieces, tailpieces and initials.
