Newspaper cutting photograph of Dashiell Hammett tipped-in to inner front endpaper + further browned and folded newspaper cutting (Evening Standard, Dec.17 1951) (giving a brief article about the author prompted by his disappearnce following his two months sentence for refusing to inform on who put up a bond for convicted 'Communists' during 1950s McCarthyism), loosely enclosed.
