I Can Read Comics is a new early reader line that familiarizes children with the world of graphic novel storytelling and encourages visual literacy in emerging readers.

What's better than a snack with friends? A snack surprise for friends, of course! When Snail spots a shiny crab apple high up in a tree, she can't wait to share it with her pals . . . she just has to get it down first! This whimsically illustrated, uplifting story will not only make kids fall in love with comics but will also spark their curiosity about the natural world.

A Feast for Friends also has a "Cartooning Basics" page at the front of the book and a "Nature Guide" page at the back, making it the whole package for emerging readers—and a great example of what I Can Read Comics is all about!

Tiny Tales: A Feast for Friends is a Level Three I Can Read Comic, meaning it’s a more complex story for independent readers.

Snail’s big-hearted quest is just the beginning of the fun.

• A Heartwarming Story of Sharing: Join Snail as she tries to figure out how to get a delicious crab apple down from a tree to share with her friends.
• An Introduction to Comics: Simple panels and clear text make this a perfect first graphic novel, building visual literacy and reading confidence.
• Cartooning for Kids: Includes a special “Cartooning Basics” page that shows children the building blocks of telling stories with pictures.
• A Fun Nature Guide: Sparks curiosity with a “Nature Guide” at the back of the book, connecting the story to the real natural world.
• Builds Reading Independence: As a Level Three I Can Read Comic, it offers a more complex and rewarding story for children who are ready to read on their own.
