This VG+ quality book was published in 1919 by Grosset & Dunlap. It is 7-5/8" tall and has 218 numbered pages followed by 2 unnumbered pages of ads; it is the tan/red/black quad cover. It has a slight lean, is extremely clean, completely free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are very lightly bumped, with no fabric damage. The bottom edges and lower front corners have a small amount of wear. The exterior looks quite good--were it not for the lean, it would look almost new. Except for an inked 1927 inscription on the front paste down, which has inexplicably been carefully ripped out and placed loose in its proper location in he book, and a small book store sticker (Woodward & Lothrop / Washington, D. C.) sticker on the rear paste down, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are strong and not damaged. The frontis is intact. The paper is very slightly toned and quite flexible. The book lists 22 Swift titles on the copyright page and 29 titles on the list at the rear of the book. The VG+ quality jacket is quite clean and the colors on the front panel are not damaged. It has tiny chips at the front corners and a slightly bigger chip at the head of the spine; there is a 3/4" tear at the bottom of the front fold with a crease that goes into the front panel. Except for that small crease, the front panel is intact. The spine is moderately toned and the lettering and Tom's image are quite clear and not faded.
