Eleven volumes, complete for the whole kingdom, published 1845-6. Quarto. (32.5 x 26.5cm). Comprising England in four volumes (5th edition, 1845), Scotland in two volumes (1st edition, 1846), Wales in two volumes (1st edition, 1845) & Ireland in two volumes (2nd edition, 1846), the maps bound in a separate volume and consisting of England & Wales (folding), plan of London (folding), 55 county maps, a number of which folding, all coloured; Scotland consisting of very large map, coloured, on six sheets mounted on linen; Ireland consisting of folding map of the island, plus 32 county maps, all coloured. The text volumes all approximately between 500pp & 700pp. The maps with some occasional minor marginal foxing, the title-pages and final leaves in each volumes with some foxing, the text and maps however generally clean & fresh, uniformly bound in contemporary half red morocco, with raised bands & gilt spines, teg, engraved armorial bookplate, with some minor rubbing.
