Folio (14 x 10 in.; 35.6 x 25.4 cm). 21 fine handcolored aquatint plates (2 watermarked 1828, one watermarked 1827), plates and text interleaved with tissue guards. BINDING/CONDITION: Final text leaf remargined in upper right corner, withal a fine, bright copy with vivid coloring. Modern red morocco by Bayntun of Bath, gilt strapwork border, the spine in 6 compartments gilt with raised bands (one reserved for lettering), marbled endpapers, gilt dentelles, edges gilt; rebacked with original spine laid down, joints and bands a trifle rubbed. Red slipcase. (64F20E) An attractive copy, first published as a "Tour of Paris" in 1824. The plates include such scenes as "Distribution of Wine on the Morning of St. Louis;" "The Blind Man of the Bridge of Arts;" "Porters and Fish-women Reveling Round the Statue of Henry IV;" "Dancers on Stilts in the Champs-Elysées;" "The Juggler of the Château d'Eau;" "The Charcoal Porters;" "Procession of the Fête Dieu Parish Saint Germain l'Auxerrois;" and others.
